Just over three weeks before the first serve at the BMW Open by Bitpanda (April 12-20, 2025, MTCC Iphitos), key details for its debut as an ATP-500 event were presented today at a press conference in BMW Park. BMW, the title partner for the 38th time, along with tournament partners, showcased a preview of the Munich tennis highlight on the spectacular video glass floor.

The presentation included a top-class player field, the new facility setup with a temporary centre court (capacity of 6,500 seats), new public catering, entertainment, and VIP areas, a new tournament logo, and a new presenting partner.

This experience is greatly enhanced by the athletes themselves. After early confirmations from Alexander Zverev (GER), currently ranked second in the world, and Taylor Fritz (USA, ranked 4th), more top players have now been confirmed. Making his debut in Munich will be American rising star Ben Shelton. The 22-year-old is currently ranked 12th in the ATP world rankings and recently made headlines as a semi-finalist at the Australian Open. MORE ON BMW OPEN HERE
