MORE ANGST IN PRO TENNIS

A group of top 20 players from both the ATP and WTA Tours has reportedly joined forces to urge the four Grand Slam tournaments to significantly boost player prize money. This united front follows recent legal action by the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), co-founded by Novak Djokovic, challenging the ATP, WTA, ITF, and ITIA over what it describes as restrictive and unfair practices.

In other high-profile tennis news, Coco Gauff is making strategic moves off the court. The U.S. Open champion announced she's parting ways with her longtime representation at Team8—founded by Roger Federer and agent Tony Godsick—to launch her own management company. As part of this next chapter, Gauff is partnering with talent agency WME, a firm known for working with major sports figures including Serena Williams. Gauff says the shift reflects her desire to take greater control of her career and expand her impact beyond tennis.
